OBJECTIVE: Researcher in the fields of pathophysiology, biochemistry, cell biology, vascular pathology, medical genetics.

 

SUMMARY

The basic direction of scientific research is the investigation of the role of proteolysis in the pathogenesis of various diseases.

Recent studies are dedicated to the problems of proteasomal proteolysis in ageing, anoxia-reoxygenation, regulation of NO-producing system, etc. Those studies were performed using the primary culture of isolated cardiomyocytes, leukocytes, synaptosomes, etc. Special attention was paid to the investigation of apoptotic and autophagic cell death during anoxia-reoxygenation of the cardiomyocytes (using fluorescence microscopic techniques) and the effect of proteasome inhibitors on these processes. Investigation of the role of allelic gene polymorphism as a risk factor in development of cardio-vascular diseases was performed using PCR, SNP analysis, RT-PCR, RNA-interference etc.

·       Immunohistochemical using specific monoclonal FITC-antibodies (immuno-fluorescent method) and specific fluorescent dyes.

·       Fractionation of cells and subcellular particles using Percoll, Ficoll

·       Animal handling experience (different models of athero- and arteriosclerosis, arterial hypertension, myocardial infarction, hypetrophy of heart, diabetes mellitus, acid-base imbalance, denervation, etc; fresh tumor cells inoculation (transplantaition) to rat, mice)

·       Statistic analysis with the use of programme pack Sigma Plot 10.0, Statistica 5.0, Origin 7.0 etc.
