OBJECTIVE: Researcher in the fields of physiology, pathophysiology, cardioprotection, molecular physiology, medical genetics, biochemistry.

FIELD OF SCIENTIFIC INTEREST:

The basic direction of scientific research is the investigation of the role of sarcolemmal and mitochondrial ATP-sensitive potassium (KATP) channels in the pathogenesis of various diseases. Much attention is given change of function of the heart dependently from condition of these channels in normal and pathological conditions, including under ischemia-reperfusion myocardium. The focus is on the mechanisms of cardioprotective action of activation of KATP-channels. Investigation of the role of allelic gene polymorphism as a risk factor in development of cardio-vascular diseases was performed using PCR, SNP analysis, RT-PCR.
