Expertises:

Technical work with animals, preparation of heart and vessels (guinea-pig, rats);

· isolation cells (cardiomyocites) by the collagenase method,

· isolated perfused heart according to Langendorff;

· cultivation of rat neonatal cardiomyocytes and anoxia-reoxygenation modeling,

· isolated mitochondria preparation,

· isolated vascular strips contractility,

· Langendorff perfusion of the isolated hearts,

· study of cardiohemodynamic using Millar ultra-catheters,

· DNA and RNA isolation,

· real-time PCR,

· statistic analysis with the use of programme pack Sigma Plot 10.0, Statistica 5.0, Origin 7.0 etc.

Field of scientific interest:

The basic direction of scientific research is the investigation of the role of sarcolemmal and mitochondrial ATP-sensitive potassium (KATP) channels in the pathogenesis of various diseases. Much attention is given change of function of the heart dependently from condition of these channels in normal and pathological conditions, including under ischemia-reperfusion myocardium. The focus is on the mechanisms of cardioprotective action of activation of KATP channels. Investigation of the role of allelic gene polymorphism as a risk factor in development of cardio-vascular diseases was performed using PCR, SNP analysis, RT-PCR.
